Snowy Castle

Back in 2016 I was looking to purchase a place in Jindabyne as a Base to explore the Snowy Mountains. I could not find one to meet my imagination. So I decided to build one. It took four years from the acquisition of the land to completion. By the end of 2020 the vision had become a reality. The Snowy Castle is a high quality, high efficiency custom designed home away from home. It has an almost 8 Star energy rating, requiring very little energy for heating or cooling. The house has been engineered and built by local contractors to suit the harsh climate and strong winds of the Snowy Mountains with a strong influence of German technology and Alpine character.

There is hydronic underfloor heating in every room all throughout the living area. An HVAC system provides cool air on hot summer days. An abundance of insulation material keeps the house comfortable in winter and summer. Consideration has been given to allow plenty of natural light to flood the house. There is plenty of storage - from Skis, Bikes up to a boat or caravan. Wifi internet, laundry (washing machine, dryer), drying room,modern kitchen, outdoor space, ...
